Paul Vollmar Winery

Formerly the Paul Vollmar Winery, Wildbadstraße – Eichamtstraße – Bernkasteler Weg

The Paul Vollmar winery was founded on 1st January 1901. For fifteen years its founder had been a shareholder of another company founded by his father - Vollmar-Rumpel & Co. The "industrial-style" four-square brick premises, built between 1898 and 1900, boasts floor-space of approximately 1,000 square metres. Beneath are three barrel vaults which, owing to a wide transverse aisle, create an impressive groin vault.

The wine was stored in the cellar in a range of different containers.

During renovation works in 2000 original details such as the barrel hoist, wall niches, and supporting structural elements were included in the new design concept. Openings were cut in the old glass tanks. Fitted with doors, these are now used for storing particularly exclusive wines.
